Breast implants in a very think patient with very little of her own breast tissue is better placed under the muscle. In this patient with a small amount of body fat, the “under the muscle” position of the implant gives additional tissue to hide the edge of the implant and to minimize the risk of seeing rippling of the implant along the superior pole of the breast.  The implants balance her overall shape and give her a more feminine curve.
