Case Details
This 64 year old lady had a tummy tuck done elsewhere, but she was very unhappy with the results. Dr. Collins brought her back to the operating room for a revision of her abdominoplasty with liposuction to her waist. Here in her early stages of recovery, she is waiting for the red to fade from her scars, but her contour is so much improved, she is delighted with her result.
On this side view, you may notice that the red in her scar is still visible. This is an early postoperative result and the red will fade in time.
Because her first surgery removed the fat and skin below her umbilicus, in order to improve her shape, a vertical incision had to be added from the belly button down. The overall improvement in her shape and body contour was enough to make the extra scar worth while in this difficult revision case.
My best advice is to “get it right” the first time by making sure that your surgeon is board certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive surgery. Dr. Collins is board certified in two surgical specialties and has additional fellowship training in breast and body contouring surgery.
