Deep Plane Face and Neck Lift With Deep Neck Contouring

This patient wanted a subtle improvement in her lower face and neck. She was bothered by developing jowls and fullness beneath her chin, but did not want treatment around her brows or eyes.

Dr. Beth Collins identified descended submandibular glands contributing to the fullness beneath her jaw. Her treatment therefore addressed deeper neck structures as well as sagging facial tissues.

Dr. Collins performed an extended deep plane face and neck lift with submandibular gland reduction and reduction of bulky tissue in the deep central neck. A hyoid fasciotomy helped elevate the hyoid bone and deepen the chin-to-neck angle, while a platysmaplasty addressed the neck muscles.

Facial fat grafting softened marionette lines and restored volume in the prejowl hollows, creating a smoother transition along the jawline.

Her result shows improved definition beneath the chin and softer contours around the mouth. Treatment concentrated on her specific concerns without brow or eyelid surgery.
