Deep Plane Lower Face and Neck Lift for Early Facial Aging

This avid fitness enthusiast and bodybuilder noticed early looseness beneath her chin and along her neck. Although she did not have substantial hanging skin, the tissue was lax. She also felt that her lean facial contours had become harder and more angular.

Dr. Beth Collins performed a deep plane lower face and neck lift to address the existing laxity and restore a firmer contour. Her approach could be described as facial “prejuvenation”—addressing early changes before they become more pronounced. Submandibular gland reduction was not needed or performed.

Facial fat grafting complemented the lift by restoring subtle volume and softening angular contours. With limited donor fat available because of her lean physique, careful placement was important in creating smoother facial transitions.

Her result combines a tighter neck contour with softer facial contours while preserving her recognizable appearance. Surgery corrected the looseness already present; natural aging continues over time.
